Community-Facing Assessment Reports

Our first tower was built in direct response to the pandemic. When state testing shut down, the need to understand how students were progressing remained. NWEA MAP produced research that showed how its assessment results compared to the state tests in many states across the country. We used this research to create NWEA predicted scores on our state tests to provide continuity to districts.

In Colorado, we also allow students and families to opt out of state testing. As a result, in some of our small rural communities, the state accountability system has reports that are nearly blank because the ā€œnā€ size for the few who take the tests is too small to report in the context of our student data privacy laws. Many of those same students and families continue to take NWEA assessments, however, because these are used directly to support the teaching and learning process. Our districts are thus very pleased with these new reports and anticipate continuing to use them well after the pandemic has passed.

Thank you to Revere School District for their willingness to serve as our exemplar for this tower. For those interested in seeing their live public-facing website, you may do so here.
